Heat, Rinse, Repeat with the Circle of Heat Drying

KCJ Property Restorations | Brendale, QLD

Job of the month - February 2022

The Job of the Month for February 2022 goes to KCJ Property Restorations who also won our photo of the month.

On this water damage job a Curtain-Wall containment barrier has been setup in the affected area with a magnetic zipper for easy access.

The room intake is up high to pull in wet air. In the bathroom we have further air intake, using the window, that is pulling in dry air from outside. The air is then run through the Drymatic II and heated so that both wet air is exhausted out and new hot air is added back into the room. This creates a push-pull system that circulates the air. So that the old wet air goes out, and new hot dry air goes into the room.

In the hallway and bedroom there is an air mover connected to a Boost Bar and floor mats. As the air from the room is pushed into the Boost Bar it will be heated and moved into the floor mats which in turn will dry the timber floor. This raises the surface temperature of the hardwood timber floor to at least 40°C.

For timber floors the ideal temperature is to get the surface between 40-50°C. The harder the timber the more energy you need to use.

A bit earlier in the video we can also see some hoses coming directly from the floor mat and injecting heat into the bathroom cupboards.

This whole system is built for maximum drying effect. The containment barrier keeps all the wet air in one confined space. The boost bars and mats are raising the surface temperature of the floor to evaporate the moisture into the air. The wet air is sucked into the Drymatic II and then pushes fresh hot air into the room. The newly heated air is then sucked into the boost bars again and repeats the cycle.
