We end the year 2020 with a job that wins both job of the month and photo of the month for December. The honour goes to Alexx Taylor from Custom Dry in NSW.

This two-level drying job originated from a Category 3 water event in the upstairs kitchen area. The leaking water made its way downstairs and flooded the bottom level. Before starting the drying process the gyprock had to be removed from the lower level and the pine frame cleaned up to make sure there were no contaminants left.

After the cleaning job was done the drying process can begin. The drying of the pine frame is a straight forward process with air movers pushing air into multiple Boost bars. The air gets heated and pushed into multiple wall mats which adds energy into the pine frame. There is also a Drymatic II on this level to control the heat being sucked into the air movers and then exhausting wet air out of the environment to optimise the drying process. Ducting from the Drymatic II heat drying machine is also going up into the ceiling cavity to assist in drying the upstairs floor.

On the upper level there are more air movers setup with Boost bars and floor mats to dry the timber floor. The floor mats are target drying the timber floor but one of the Boost bars is also used for another function on this job. Using a 12port attachment on the Boost bar to inject heat underneath the kitchen bench by drilling holes into the kicks. Some holes in the kicks are also used as exhaust holes to push out any moisture. With some ports not being used on the Boost bar the additional hoses are connected into the floor mats to increase the air flow. Another Drymatic II is used on the upper level to control the air temperature and moisture being used by the air movers. The Drymatic II will heat and recirculate the air and then exhaust the wet air out through the window as well.
