Cat 3 / Mould Remediation & Drying

In this project, Brian has embarked on a thorough mould remediation and cleaning process, ensuring a clean slate for the restoration efforts. Given the limited power available, Brian has strategically employed a combination of Drymatic equipment to optimise the drying process. By using the Drymatic II he has been able to focus on heating the air and efficiently exhausting the wet air from the affected area. By utilising Drymatic II’s ingenious room intake, he effectively channelled all the wet air to the exhaust, keeping the environment controlled and conducive to drying.

To target the wettest frames of affected walls, Brian has included the use of Drymatic Boost Bar with Drymatic 3-port and 4-port systems in conjunction with mats. The use of Drymatic boost bar heating the mats with the high-pressure fan-driven airflow allows control of heating the areas that need it most. The exceptional combination of the 3-port and 4-port systems, together with the mats, achieved remarkable results. The materials in the targeted areas experienced a substantial increase of 8 to 10 degrees, resulting in accelerated drying rates—twice as fast as non-matted areas.

Ceiling Drying with Health Considerations

In this job, Shane’s goal was to dry a water-damaged ceiling while carefully considering the customer's health concerns, which most likely related to potential dust or mould issues. Instead of employing a high-powered fan that could potentially push contaminants around the property, Shane has opted for a more gentle and efficient approach. He has utilised Restore Solutions' radial flat fan, directing the airflow into the Drymatic Boost Bar, then into a 4-port system connected to Drymatic mat. This mat was strategically suspended with containment wall poles, allowing Shane to effectively channel the heated air to the targeted area. By filling the mat with heat, he created a high vapour pressure of materials while maintaining a lower vapour pressure of the surrounding air. This controlled process facilitated optimal drying conditions without disturbing the indoor environment excessively.

One of the significant advantages of this method is its low noise level, minimising any disturbances during the drying process. This was especially crucial in this project, where the customer's health concerns were a priority.

Additionally, Shane has used Husqvarna A1000 air cleaners to contain and clean the air. Overall, this carefully tailored approach allowed him to achieve efficient and effective drying results while prioritizing the customer's health and safety.
