The September Video of the Month winner takes us through a comprehensive restoration project triggered by a plumbed-in fridge leak on the second floor. This dual drying approach tackled the issue from both above and below, ensuring that the subfloor received proper drying treatment. On the ground floor, where the leak caused substantial microbial activity, remediation was carried out under the affected area. A Boost Bar was used to channel heated air into the contained subfloor, alongside an air filter device to manage microbial activity. On the second floor, the leak was primarily contained in the void beneath the fridge space. The restorer has used a Drymatic fan into a Boost Bar that is pumping into mats to heat up the surface, using microjets of energy to penetrate the timber's moisture barrier effectively. Injection drying was also implemented under the surrounding cabinetry. This comprehensive top-and-bottom drying plan should achieve a rapid and efficient drying outcome, with a dehumidifier in use on the upper level to regulate moisture levels in the air.

In our September Photo Job of the Month Daniel has captured some great infrared camera shots indicating water from a burst pipe upstairs had infiltrated the ceiling and affected the floors downstairs. By using an infrared camera, the extent of the damage was well documented. To tackle this drying job, Daniel has used the Drymatic II to heat up the air, however, an unconventional obstacle presented itself with no place to exhaust the air. Thinking on his feet, the restorer ingeniously routed the exhaust into the sink. As the heated air reached its dew point, water was cleverly directed down the drain. To ensure thorough drying, a 12-port injection setup has been used where heated air from the Drymatic boost and fan was strategically placed under the kitchen cabinets. This job highlights not only the technical expertise but also the problem-solving skills of our restoration professionals.
